Title: AS Death Note Replacement
Description: What anime should AS replace DN w/?

gokudera4 - July 15, 2008 03:13 AM (GMT)
Like I said, I'm curious as to which anime you all think should replace Death Note in the 12:30 slot on at. on Adult Swim, since Death Note has completed.(I like DN, but once it's over, I'd like a new anime.)

I think it should be 1 of 3(though 1 is most likely impossible....sadly)
1) Outlaw Star
2)S-Cry-Ed
3) KHR(impossible, I know...but I can dream at least, right?)

Gundam Wing is also a great choice.
They'll probably just re-re-show FLCL. Not that its a bad anime, its just been on aaay too many times.
One more thing-Do you think putting an hour of the anime with endless fillers (Inusha) is wise?

Thx! :)

Syaoran - July 15, 2008 03:48 AM (GMT)
Outlaw Star was already done, so I doubt it. I thought they did S-Cry-Ed too. KHR, maybe, who knows? Maybe they'll show a little Black Lagoon? That'd be rockin'. Well... it might not be... I mean, Adult Swim does cut out a lot of stuff in anime and dubs for Black Lagoon might not be all that great, but who knows? I mean they did Blue Gender. I hated the show, but they did it. Blood and guts: OKAY! :D <_<; Sex: NO! :D

Maybe they'll finally explain the ending to Big O. I can make a few guesses, but they really shoulda explained it just a little better. But then they'd have to use the re-airing of the second to last episode joke again... I just dunno. I stopped watching Adult Swim ages ago. Oh well. :pocky:

Shiya - July 15, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
Gundam Wing was actually completed a long...
long...
long...
lonnnnnggggg...
time ago, too. Like, it was off the air before Outlaw Star. So I doubt it'd ever be on again, though if it were, zomg, viewing party at my house. That's my favorite anime evar. Though, lawl, I own the boxed set so I guess I don't care *that* much. XD

Outlaw Star and S-Cry-Ed were both already done, but keep in mind that FLCL was redone at least twice by AS, so I wouldnt put it pat them to re-do another series...Black Lagoon would be cool...
but I think KHR would own

I had heard something a while ago about Gurren Lagann possibly being on Adult Swim at some point in the future....although it looks like they aren't replacing Death Note with anything any time soon.

mitamaking - July 15, 2008 02:23 PM (GMT)
Call it a hunch it will Guardian of the Sacred Spirit, Serie no Moribito.

That show is the only one AS has they haven't shown. I think it will be in a few weeks.

Ryto - July 15, 2008 03:32 PM (GMT)
I looked it up, and like I said, that's not coming to Adult Swim for a while. Sometime in the fall. Not nearly as soon as I'd hoped they'd start something new.

Keisuke - July 16, 2008 07:42 AM (GMT)
you actually thought they'd start something new this soon ?.?

I don't believe that Gundam, Outlaw Star, or S-CRY-ed have a very good chance of being reshown...

as to KHR i haven't heard anything about licensing for it so.... (though i agree that it would be awesome if they did..)

Black Lagoon would be nice (i think its a good show..)
Gurren Laggan is another good choice....(though i freaked out in the store when i saw it and bought it...it was sub only so I'm not to sure how far along they are in the dubbing phase) though i believe that has a higher chance than anything else i suggest.....

I suppose they could double up on Bleach.... (can't do that for code Geass though it would end it to quick)

They could always show good old Cowboy Bebop I guess..

I actually heard Bleach was in trouble and may be dropped next year, I pick for a new show, maybe that new FMA will be on Adult Swim if it is actually real.

Ryto - July 17, 2008 12:41 AM (GMT)
Where'd you hear this Mark? Don't scare me with something like that unless you have a source. There were rumors like that about a year ago I think, and it turned out to be nothing (obviously).

That's because they haven't had a new Bleach episode in a long time, though i don't know about now. Haven't been watching adult swim too much lately. I vote they put D.Gray-man on.

mitamaking - July 17, 2008 02:34 AM (GMT)
Mainly little things on the Anime on DVD and Anime Network forums, they seem to think it is going, I don't know the sources but knowing Adult Swim, it could happen, also are you all watching Kiba on Toonami Jetream, it is quite decent, go watch it and help ADV get some money.

Keisuke - July 17, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
Kiba is indeed a great show !.! so yeah Watch it!!

I do remember reading a little something within a story on ANN about FMA 2..something about a list leaked onto the net with someone marked as a director for it.. though the company said the list was fake.. i believe i remember something about them saying it was a possibility...

D.Grayman would be awesome too O.O

Ryto - July 17, 2008 09:05 AM (GMT)
The only way I'd really care if they do more FMA is if they decide to animate the manga storyline. It would be 100 times more awesome.

ProfWeasel - July 19, 2008 11:54 AM (GMT)
Came across this news tidbit:

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit (Seirei No Moribito) will be premiering on the Adult Swim programming block on Cartoon Network on August 24, 2008. No time slot has been announced at this time.

fully agreed. all they would have to do is change the intro to greed, the 5th lab, and everything else.

Ryto - July 20, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
I wonder if they'd go through the trouble to reanimate those parts, or put them in the correct order, adding or removing anything that's different between the two.

wraith - July 21, 2008 12:39 PM (GMT)
if theyre willing to make multiple eva movies that contradict each other then i think theyll be willing to redo fma

mitamaking - July 21, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
The rumored FMA show is supposedly Full Metal Alchemist originals, it is supposed to be based off of the manga.

I think it's okay, I am just sick of hearing people knock FMA the anime, I like it, alot.

although I haven't heard large amount of complaining I will agree with you on this point....
though I guess I can't say much on the whole manga vs. anime argument as I have yet to read to much of the manga (I've only read the first 2 volumes..)

Ryto - July 22, 2008 01:19 AM (GMT)
I've never said that there was anything wrong with the anime. Before I discovered the manga, the anime was great, and it still is. It's just that the manga is infinitely better. That's all I'm saying.

Jason, you need to get reading. The series seems close to ending, and a lot of the characters get more time than in the anime, like Barry the Chopper. In the manga, he ISN'T killed in lab 5, and gets a lot more time to be some good comic relief. Same goes for Yoki, the greedy guy from one of the first episodes who gets killed by Envy (I think) in one of the later episodes.

Yeah I know.. I'll get to it when i get more volumes...

and in the anime Barry wasn't killed in lab 5 if I remember correctly he fled when lab 5 was destroyed and was later killed by Scar..

correct. in the anime barry becomes a mercenary and then scar kills him.
in the manga he falls in love with hawkeye :sweatdrop:

Ryto - July 22, 2008 05:37 PM (GMT)
Close enough to lab five....Lol.....He still has nowhere near the part he has in the manga.

ProfWeasel - July 28, 2008 06:41 PM (GMT)
Haven't read the FMA manga but I have seen very few series restarts or re-dos that went well. I would leave it alone and leave the manga storyline in the book.

gokudera4 - July 28, 2008 06:50 PM (GMT)
well, i was brawling o sat night, and atch AS around 1, and saw GITS:StandAloneComplex again, along with cowboy bebop, so that means the whole schedule is diff, with Bleach at 11:30 and Code Geass at midnght, so i guess that's their temp. solution ^^
