I got this in my ODU mail last week. I meant to post a warning then, but got sidetracked. Sorry. I hope none of you fell for it.

I sent it in to OCCS a while ago but they didn't give people a warning letter about it. Don't know why, possibly cause I used a non odu email account to contact them.

Yeah, I was gonna mail it in, but I didn't know the correct address to send it to.

Why didn't you use your odu email account?

Because I have outlook and rather use that then go over to ODU's Email Website and use their ugly program.
I know, I can set up outlook for it, but why be arsed to do that?
Anyway they shouldn't block people who aren't ODU students yet, because they have communications and dealings with Non-ODU accounts as well.
Edit: And by that I mean OCCS is used for events as well as Webb Center's Support. So they both need to be able get Email from guests/Speakers.

Good point. (about needing to accept other addresses) I guess they just figure if any of us are stupid enough to fall for it, then we deserve to lose our privacy?

Possibly. But also possible that some idiot at the school decided to do something like this.

If that were the case, then I'm pretty sure they would have responded to you saying that it was a legitimate email.

wow, thats almost word for word the phishing scam they had on gaia just 2 or 3 weeks ago.

It's not from the school. The email address was some made up domain.
