So how does the Lock-In work? I know the regular meetings are thurs 6-10, right? Is the Lock-In the same, jus' 'til noon or what?

The Lock-In will be the Friday following the first meeting, from 6pm until the following Saturday at noon.

So the first meeting is September 4th, the lock-in is the 5th and 6th.

What kind of stuff happens during the lock in? And is it a literal lock in?

You can leave, but you can't go wandering around the webb center. Just stay in the area that we are allotted. And what happens...well that will be a surprise now won't it? Muhaha...muahahaha...MUAHAHAHA

Basically anime, games, talking, chatting, sleeping. Its pretty much lax on what you do. And if you do decide to leave the lock in, you won't be able to get back in. Well there are ways but its frowned up XD. Once you leave you've left...and if you so happen to be let back in. You never really left at all now did you? I mean. You can't come back.

I'm jus' debating if I'm gonna go. Or if I might jus' show up late, etc.

Leaving early typically works better than showing up late. Less hassles of trying to get in the building, ect.

Yeah... I really wouldn't recommend showing up to the lock-in more than an hour or maybe two late. Otherwise you'll be locked out and you'll have to wait on the kindness of strangers to get back in. XD

So apparently, from what I've been hearing, the hurricane is 'sposed to dump a ton of water on Norfolk Fri and Sat.

I don't think the storm will affect things but we will play it by ear. If things start to get nasty we can evacuate people to their homes.

It's not expected to go beyond a catagory 1. As someone who has lived here all my life, that's wimpy.

Does anyone know what time the meeting starts?

My only concern is because I'll be coming from the peninsula, so evacuating to my house isn't very easy if things get bad. :)

Knowing how the last couple of administration rolled, I'd bet it'd be on the Friday before Thanksgiving break.

I'd just like to point out that our usual normal storms are worse than that sad excuse for nature farting in our general direction. Three cheers for ODU's cracker-jack team of weather men, and the fine over-hyping local meteorologists. <_<; <_<;

Half of a dead tree fell on my driveway and would have totaled my car if it were there at the same time of the impact. Just an FYI 20k people went out of power during the storm as well...or so said the news.

Va. Beach wasn't hit so bad though, but I heard it was pretty bad in some of the other areas as well.

I live near ODU, it wasn't bad at all, in fact it really started Saturday around 10 so most people would already have been gone. The cancellation was stupid and everyone freak out about this storm just like Gustav, overreacted.(Ike may be trouble though)

Can we set up a TV for Ghost Hunters Live? It's like all night and I'm sure some of us would like to see it. Even if we have to commandeer one of the TV's in the House of Blue (where the pizza hut and grill works is) that would be good.

Any requests for games to bring? I can get just about any 360, GCN/Wii, or PS2 game. I might need help with controllers though.

Ive got 1 good PS2 controller if u need it....but heck yes Mario Party! :)

Could someone bring a PS2 guitar or two? If so, I can get us set up with a hack of Guitar Hero with anime songs.
