Title: n00b alert

How do I tell what classes I need for my degree? Is there a list anywhere? I'm trying to figure out what class to take this semester.
And yes, I know I'm doing this way too late.

What is your major? Also the best person to ask is your advisor for your major.

Comp Sci.
Unfortunately, her track record at returning my calls remains spotty.

There are Student Handbooks which have the courses and the major requirements in them. Its a "Course Catalog" Ask the information desk in Webb if they know where to get some.

I have one of those. Unfortunately, I'm not having much luck figuring out which classes I can and can't take.

Are you a freshman?
Please see
Four Year CurriculumMs. Brunelle generally does a better job answering emails. Perhaps you could email her to see when she has office hours, so you can stop by.

Well, considering I work during the day, it makes it hard to pop over for an office visit. Anyways, I just finished speaking with her. She recommended CS 312, 330, or 361. Have any of you taken these classes? What were they like? I'm leaning towards 330 since it's a web class. The other two have sessions in the middle of the day. I might be able to get away with those if I bring my laptop and work from the school.
Also, I was under the impression that ODU had switched over from C++ to Java, but apparently CS 330 is the only Java class. :( I haven't done any C++ coding in a decade.

I'm currently taking 312 and 361 right now. 312 is very easy, and 361 so far isn't too bad. I haven't taken 330 yet, but I believe there is alot of work involved, and I wouldn't take it online. Most CS classes at ODU are C++.

Didn't classes just start this week? How can you tell if the class is easy this early?

330 Is currently not being head up by Zeil so I suggest taking it now when you can send an email to a preferable teacher.
C++ is better than Java.
Java is for porn.
C++ is for programming.
CS 361 is fun and helps quite a lot.
I have no clue what 312 is.

Considering I get paid to code in Java, I'll keep your thoughts in mind next time I go to the bank. :)
