ProfWeasel - June 15, 2006 09:29 PM (GMT)
I will throw in a few titles that may or may not entice the masses

- Legend of Black Heaven
- Desert Punk(Sunabazo)
- Niea Under 7
- Gun X Sword
- Kamichu
- Trinity Blood
- Baslisk
- Speed Grapher(pending my viewing of it)
- Petite Princess Yucie
- Arjuna

ProfWeasel - June 22, 2006 03:23 PM (GMT)
Well I saw Speed Grapher at AMA. It is REALLY cool and I would love to show it. It will probally be the last thing shown one night with a warning on it that it is not for the faint of heart, stomach, or morals.

As far as other titles that I came across while at AMA a couple others came to mind that I saw.

-Tsukiyoumi(not sure of spelling) Moon Phase
-Wandaba Style
-Hikaru No Go

Moon Phase and Speed Grpaher are not going to be out till later this summer or towards fall so we will have to play them by ear as far as previewing.

PS: If anyone has any other recomendations please post them it helps out a load.

Urban_Naruto

No actually I am pretty well tapped out but I think I have one more in me.

Time for a random anime pull of EPIC proportions...........

RANDOM ANIME STYLE: RECOMENDATION JUTSU!!!!!!!

Seven of Seven

Strangely enough this anime has something supprisingly crowd pleasing about it. Everyone I have showed this to has requested to borrow it. Not sure whether it is Veronica Taylor playing seven roles or just that it is that cool and stylish or maybe it's the NANA RANGERS!

Urban_Naruto - June 29, 2006 01:59 PM (GMT)
It's the NANA Rangers has to be, I mean come on cry baby Nana is funny. I have to say if you can get ahold of it is:
Shadow Skill

TheG-Man - June 30, 2006 03:37 AM (GMT)
If you dont mind some suggetsion form me, here are a few thats ive enjoied...

Erementer Gerad
Shakugan no Shana
Jinki:Extend
Karin
My HiME
My Otome

ProfWeasel - June 30, 2006 09:40 AM (GMT)
Those are some very good titles........Unfortunatly they were so good we showed many of them already :sweatdrop: Erementer Gerad(Elemental Gelade) was a winner for an extended viewing and Mai Hime(My Hime) was a continual topic of discussion at the ASC meetings. Most of the other were just shown as normal. I think Mai Otome might still be on the running list

Jinki: Extend however is new and thus has not come up for viewing. So we will make sure to include it.

We thank you for your feedback and hope to see you at the meetings for the ASC later this summer(geography and time permitting).

Urban_Naruto - June 30, 2006 03:00 PM (GMT)
Yes Yes geography and Time if the time of meeting is good then yes people will come...hold it and they will come.

Shadow_Fox - September 15, 2006 04:25 AM (GMT)
i think a really good anime that should be shown is Burst Angel/Bakuretsu Tenshi.

Eltoshan - September 15, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
Please ignore my insolent childishness. All of these things beneath have a bit of nostalgia for me. Especially the old ones, 'cause I kinda grew up watching them.

Doraemon (old and ancient, but i like it)
Fire Emblem (I have the VHS & untranslated, but it's violent enough to make up for it. For the record, it's "Prince Mars", not ----ing "Prince Marth".)
Excel Saga
Dragon Quest (another old one)
DNAngel
FF: Unlimited
Love Hina
Vampire Hunter: D
Ninja Scroll
Tsukikage Ran
Samurai Deeper Kyo
Ghost in the Shell

PikaPikaChuuuuu! - September 22, 2006 12:44 AM (GMT)
We ShOuLd AlL dEfInAtElY wAtCh PoKeMoN!!!111 PIKACHUUUU!!!!

Gaelic Ninja - September 24, 2006 06:30 PM (GMT)
How about the new Hellsing OVA's? I have the first one, and the second one is released now

ProfWeasel - September 25, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
Some more good ideas(didn't care for FF:Unlimited myself but eeh). Glad to see the old skool love.

Quick rundown of status of titles just FYI

Doraemon - Yeah this is an old one. Probally wouldn't be the best choice considering the club demographic. Doraemon if I remember correctly is a children's program, one of those educational ones. May not be the best choice for a college group but I am willing to try anything once. Also hard to get a hold of a subtitlled copy.

Fire Emblem - Never seen it personally but I do remeber that it is only 2 episodes would need to be shown with something else.

Excel Saga - An excelent suggestion.

Dragon Quest - Don't know enough about it to comment.

DNAngel - Just started watching this myself. Seems good.

FF: Unlimited - It got brought up once before and shot down. Not that many of those members are around anymore so might be worth bringing up.

Love Hina - A classic

Vampire Hunter: D - We watched the classic movie about 2 years ago at a Halloween meeting. I was not really impressed with the original but Bloodlust was awesome.

Ninja Scroll - This would have to be a lock-in thing. Much like one of my recomends Speed Grapher it is rather heavy on graphic content for a open meeting.

Tsukikage Ran - Been watching this recently too. Looks like a winner.

Samurai Deeper Kyo - Sure why not.

Ghost in the Shell - This also got brought up but with it showing on CN it was thought to be redundant to show it at a club meeting.

Pokemon - I think everyone who has not been living under a rock for the past decade has seen at least an episode of this. As far as the Japanese version I haven't ever seen a subtitled copy. Fansub or otherwise.

Hellsing OVA - This is one I would like to show. It's also one that is currrently liscenced and comes out in December so more than likely it will be a Spring thing.

Keep the ideas rolling in.

eggy_yockio - September 25, 2006 09:52 PM (GMT)
How about Simoun?

Ecnelis - September 25, 2006 10:31 PM (GMT)
We did show some of DNAngel last year if I remember correctly. Or, perhaps I just saw it on one of the amv's and decided to watch it. Fairly good anime, very funny, very clean, and has a good ending. So, I definetly support that one.

eggy_yockio - October 5, 2006 04:00 PM (GMT)

What exactly are the rules regarding fansubed animes?

ProfWeasel - June 4, 2007 10:08 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (chadt826 @ Jun 3 2007, 11:03 AM)
What exactly are the rules regarding fansubed animes?

Okay here is what we have been doing thus far.

1.) If a series is liscenced we should show the commercial version if it is available.

2.) Series that are unlicenced we have available to show in fansub.

3.) If a series is licenced but unreleased we must sit and wait for it to come out on DVD and such.

Now we have made exceptions to these on a case by case basis. Strictly speaking fansubbing is no more legal than mp3 sharing and has been cracked down on by both American and Japanese companies alike.

On a completely different note:

I will also reccomend The Melacholy of Haruhi Suzumiya for consideration.

desertgecko96 - June 4, 2007 02:10 PM (GMT)
Claymore, Kaze no Stigma, kekkaishi, Mai Otome,

Keisuke - June 6, 2007 08:18 PM (GMT)
don't we have a list of anime that are waiting to be reviewed by the ASC? where is that? I would like to check whats on it and whats not before i make a couple more suggestion
